It's an important ritual of life to meet the family members of your ‘family of the heart’. I always have anticipatory nervous flutters. Somehow my neurodivergent system equates meeting new people with pregame jitters.
KrisP has many children. All of them are grown. The youngest is Sam. They and their partner flew into Las Vegas for a long weekend. We were only a few hours away. A meeting was a given.
Mom's Kitchen is a fabulous find in Henderson, NV. They had great reviews on Google. Both breakfast and lunch are available and the menu is very varied.
Sam & Tyrian are a stable partnership that complement each other beautifully. They have expressed joy with our late in life nomad arrangement. Granted, little of our lived experience as nomads is of particular fascination for the young adults. They are glad we support and care for one another.
The chips and dip starter was flavourful. We were amazed at the inclusion of ingredients containing 5 types of beans, possibly heritage, as we had never heard of them. There were too many to commit to memory, yet the flavor has ruined any recipe of bean dip.
Those of us who chose omelets, are not disappointed in them. They were perfectly cooked, large in size, and fluffy. The hashbrowns were just ok and the side of fruit was fresh not from a jar. Probably the homefries would have been a better selection.
The Pancakes received rave reviews and they looked perfectly done. They were the ones you aspire to make at home, but only with the last one of the batch do you get the temperature just right. Always the first 2 are reserved for the dogs, called pupcakes, and can usually be visualized as misshapen and over cooked. Luckily Shibas don't care, they just gobble them up.
Here we are, a group of diners. We are at ease with each other and ready to eat. The following silence of the table attests to the quality of the dining experience. Let the mmmmm’s begin.
For the record, the Shibas wish to report the absence of any takeout bags. This is a reportable offense in the Shiba owners rulebook. Amends must be made.
Have the Shibas forgiven you yet?
How funny about the Shibas wanting to amend the rule book!
Looks like everyone is having a good time.
